VICTORIA, BC - The Artisanal Gold Council (AGC) is excited to announce a change of roles and an expansion of its leadership team. Dr. Kevin Telmer, the current Executive Director and founder of AGC, will be transitioning to the role of Director of Innovation and Business Development. Roger Tissot, the current Deputy Executive Director, will take over as the new Executive Director of AGC.Dr. Telmer has been the driving force behind AGC for the last 15 years, and his leadership has been instrumental in advancing the mission and vision of the organization. Under his guidance, AGC has become a global leader in developing responsible artisanal and small-scale gold mining practices and policies. His move into the position of Director of Innovation and Business Development will allow him to focus on new and exciting avenues of future growth for AGC.Roger Tissot brings to AGC over 20 years of global senior leadership experience in the natural resources sector. He holds an M.A. in Economics from Universite Laval and an MBA from the University of Calgary. His deep understanding of economics and business management will be crucial in his new role as Executive Director. Mr. Tissot has spent the last year traveling to many of the AGC’s projects and field sites and engaging in policy and regulation discussions with national governments in preparation to take on the leadership of the organization. The AGC is thrilled to have his experience and leadership to help lift the organization to new heights, develop new partnerships, and rejuvenate old ones."We are thrilled to announce these changes to our leadership team," said Hugh Stephens, Chair of AGC's Board of Directors.
