Abigail Ocate – National Project Manager, Based in the Philippines

For six years, Abi worked on promoting good governance in the extractive industries, particularly on improving fiscal transparency. Prior to serving as Country Officer for Southeast Asia at the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) International Secretariat, she was instrumental in establishing and institutionalizing the EITI process in the Philippines as the Technical Manager of the PH-EITI National Secretariat. She also worked as an Environmental Specialist for a private consulting firm handling Environmental Impact Assessment projects. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Ecology and MSc degree in Environmental Science.

Abi is responsible for managing the Government Environment Facility – Global Opportunities for Long-Term Development (GEF-GOLD) project in the Philippines.
