SENEGAL

PROJECT PREPARATION GRAND COORDINATOR

Location: Dakar, Senegal | Contract Duration: 6-12 months

The Artisanal Gold Council (AGC) seeks a dedicated Project Preparation Grant Coordinator to lead the development of a GEF-supported project addressing mercury reduction in Senegal's artisanal and small-scale gold mining sector. The coordinator will work closely with AGC experts and local stakeholders to draft the project preparation grant, ensuring alignment with environmental and community development goals.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with stakeholders, including government, NGOs, and mining cooperatives.
Conduct research and community assessments to identify project priorities.
Organize meetings, site visits, and workshops.
Develop comprehensive project proposals, including budgets, work plans, and monitoring strategies.
Regularly report progress and outcomes to AGC leadership.

Qualifications:
Master’s degree or equivalent in Mining, International Development, or related fields.
Proven experience in managing complex international development projects.
Knowledge of ASGM sector and Senegal's environmental priorities.
Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Fluency in English; local language skills are an asset.
